The Rivers state government says it will continue to promote policies and programmes in the education sector in partnership with higher institutions to deliver qualitative education in the State, as well as support the development of the country.
Governor Sim Fubara stated this during the 43rd convocation ceremony of the University of Port Harcourt.
It was the 34th convocation of the university of Port Harcourt, held at the newly built convocation arena by the Rivers state government.
Speaking as the special guest of honour was the Rivers state governor Sim Fubara represented by his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu.
She said the state will continue to collaborate with higher institutions to produce quality manpower for the nation.
The vice Chancellor of the university of Port Harcourt Professor Owunari Georgewill who thanked the state government for her contributions, charged the gradaunds to support the nation in solving some of her socio-economic challenges.
To some graduands, the journey was demanding and stressful.
Over thirteen thousand persons graduated with first class degrees, Post Graduate Diplomas, masters and Doctor of Philosophy PhD.
