The Rivers State Government has dismissed reports of a disagreement between the executive and legislative arms of government over the 2026 Appropriation Bill.
In a statement, the state government said Governor Siminalayi Fubara is not at loggerheads with members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, contrary to reports published by some national newspapers and online platforms.
The government said the governor is working closely with the lawmakers in the interest of the people of Rivers State.
According to the statement, the 2026 budget proposal has already been presented to the House of Assembly and is currently undergoing the normal legislative process.
The state government expressed confidence that the lawmakers would complete the process and pass the budget.

It also urged those promoting what it described as negative narratives to desist, stressing that Rivers State has experienced difficult times in the past and does not want to be drawn into another round of controversies.
The government called for peace and harmony, saying these are necessary to ensure sustained development across the state.
