The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has demonstrated its operational readiness to protect lives and critical national assets.
The State Commandant, Dennis Reuben, led officers and personnel of the Command on a show of force across Port Harcourt.
The exercise featured personnel in various operational uniforms, showcasing the diverse tactical capabilities of the Corps.
The show of force, stretching from the NSCDC State Headquarters in Port Harcourt through major streets of the state capital, was aimed at sending a strong warning to criminal elements.
It is also to reassure the public of the Command’s readiness to respond promptly and effectively to security threats and emergencies within its statutory mandate.
According to the Rivers State NSCDC Commandant, Dennis Reuben, the display underscored the Command’s capacity to discharge its responsibilities.
He also commended the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar, for his continuous support toward strengthening the operational capacity of the Command.
He cautioned vandals and economic saboteurs against criminal activities, declaring that Rivers State is no longer a safe haven for their unwholesome activities
The Rivers State NSCDC boss further called for continued cooperation and the timely sharing of useful information by members of the public to enable the Corps to effectively prevent and respond to security threats.
