Stakeholders from the Ekepeye ethnic Nationality while reacting to the recent political happenings in the state which they say have resulted to arrests and intimidation of political allies of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, particularly their son Edison Ehie and a few others, wondered how the police linked the innocent and responsible youths to crimes commited at different times and locations with incriminating charges ranging from terrorism, conspiracy and attempted murder.
While recounting the series of attacks launched against supporters of the Governor, they described it as an affront to the peace pact where the Governor’s only appeal was for his supporters not to be intimidated or politically victimized
They however appealed to the president whom they believe had good intentions for the state to prevail on the inspector general of police to look inwardly to uncover the motives behind these arrests to avert professional misconducts by men under his watch.
