The cabinet shuffle sees Professor Zacchaeus Adangor, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, being redeployed from his position as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to the Ministry of Special Duties, (Governor’s Office).
Also redeployed is the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu, who is to take over as the Commissioner in charge of the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.
No explanation has been given for the cabinet shakeup that has affected the two commissioners, said to be loyalists of the immediate past governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Both Professor Zaccheus Adango and Isaac Kamalu were among the commissioners who had resigned their appointments at the height of the political crisis that rocked the state.
They were all reappointed by Governor Sim Fubara, as part of the terms of the peace agreement, brokered by President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, and made available to AIT, the affected commissioners are to hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries
immediately, as the deployments take immediate effect.
The statement adds that all hand-over processes must be completed immediately.
