The Rivers State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding with a private investor for the construction of twenty thousand units of affordable housing to be located in the new Port Harcourt City formerly referred to and Greater Port Harcourt.
The aim is to address the housing needs of the majority of residents who are low – and medium-income earners.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Governor Sim Fubara says the main goal of his administration is the welfare and happiness of the people.

The Governor is also suing for peace; stressing that peace is the only ingredient that can bring about the much-needed investment and development in the state.
Saturday also sees the Rivers State Government enter into another agreement for the construction of a mechanic and spare parts market.
The project is in fulfilment of a promise Governor Fubara made during one of his campaign visits to the Ikoku area of Port Harcourt
