General Manager of Rivers United, Okey Kpalukwu has confirmed that the Technical Adviser of the team, Stanley Eguma who was kidnapped has been released by his abductors.
Kpaluku who confirmed Eguma’s release in a telephone chat with AIT said the longest serving Technical Manager of the club was released last night.
Coach Eguma was abducted on Monday by unknown gunmen around Enugu axis, South East Nigeria, on his way to Port Harcourt after match day twenty seven encounter in the National Professional Football League NPFL against Adamawa United.

Kpaluku further stated that he spoke with coach Eguma last night and stressed that the coach is expected to reunite with his family today.
He said the coach was released last night and that he called last night and spoke with him.
On whether ransome was paid to secure Coach Eguma’s release, he said the most important thing is that the manager has been released and he was not privy to any information on ransom being paid.
