The late social crusader and king of Afrobeat music, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and Nigerian British Singer and Songwriter Sade Adu are to be inducted into 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their laudable influence and contributions to the global evolution of music.
The inductees were announced by judge, Lionel Richie and host Ryan Seacrest; during the annual hall of fame reveal segment on American Idol.
With this laudable feat Sade Adu and the late Abami Eda Fela have made history as the first Nigerian artists to receive the honour.
Fela was recognised in the “Early Influence” category, while Sade Adu was inducted into the ‘Performer Category.
Legendary British Music Manager and Author who managed Fela’s music in his lifetime, Rikki Stein has also shared the news of his longtime friend’s feat.
The induction ceremony for the 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theatre, Los Angeles California United States.
