The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has elected Samuel Memeh as its National Chairman at its maiden national convention in Abuja.
The event also marked the official launch of the party’s political movement and governance roadmap.

Delegates and party stakeholders gathered in Abuja for the first national convention of the Democratic Leadership Alliance.
National Chairman Samuel Memeh described the convention as a historic milestone for national transformation.

Memeh blamed Nigeria’s persistent challenges, such as poverty, unemployment, and insecurity, on prolonged bad leadership.
The DLA heavily criticized the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, accusing the current government of worsening economic hardship, driving inflation, and lowering living standards.
To drive institutional change, the DLA says it is prioritizing youth inclusion. The party revealed that a majority of its members are under thirty years old. Leaders promised continuous investments in artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and digital skills.
Registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission in February 2026, the DLA claims it operates completely free of political godfathers. On the 2027 general elections, the party rejected the traditional zoning of its presidential ticket.
The new political movement positions itself as the primary ideologically driven alternative for Nigerians.
