The Commissioner of Police in the state, Sanusi Buba, has assured them that, there would be no cause for alarm.
Schools across the country have resumed for a new and fresh 2021/2022 academic session, but in Katsina State, the students are resuming to complete their third term for the 2020/2021 session, a delay caused by the closedown of schools, as a result of bandits’ attack, where scores of school children were abducted in December 2020.
The action affected the students who were about to write their second term examinations, forcing the academic calendar to be delayed.
Though the students seem happy to resume their studies in some of the schools visited, they, however, expressed fear over possible attacks on their fellow students in other local government areas.
They call on the government to secure their schools as well, with the rising concerns, the Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba, is assuring both students, parents, and caregivers of watertight security in schools, saying, no cause for panic.
According to him, lessons have been learnt from the December 2020 abduction of over 300 students from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara.
He said the command is not willing to take chances anymore.
