The leadership tussle within the Social Democratic Party, SDP, has taken a decisive turn as the Forum of State Chairmen welcomes a Court of Appeal judgment reaffirming Shehu-Musa Gabam as the party’s legitimate National Chairman.

The Forum says the ruling—delivered in two consolidated appeals—finally settles months of internal wrangling that split the party’s national leadership.

According to the Forum, the appellate court set aside an earlier Federal High Court judgment that recognised Sadiq- Abubakar Gombe, declaring that the lower court acted without jurisdiction.

Describing the appeal decision as “clear, final, and unambiguous,” the Chairmen insist Gabam’s position has now been fully restored.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum, its secretary, Danlami Musa of Nasarawa State, said the judgment dismantled what he called “a fraudulent foundation” allegedly used to mislead the Federal High Court.

He also accused some party actors, including former presidential candidate Prince Adewole Adebayo, of relying on what he termed “a phantom judgment” that never existed.

The Forum further dismissed comments challenging the ruling as either ignorance of the law or deliberate misinformation.

They have now called on security agencies to investigate those allegedly involved in misleading the courts and warned that any further attempts to distort the appellate court’s decision would be met with legal action.
