The Social Democratic Party, SDP, says it is stepping up preparations for the 2027 general election, with plans to field candidates for elective positions across the country.
Speaking at the party’s National Convention in Abuja, its National Chairman, Sadiq Umar Gombe, said the SDP would focus its campaign on addressing the economic challenges facing Nigerians.
The SDP presidential candidate, Adewale Adebayo, said national unity would be a priority, alongside efforts to harness the country’s natural resources.
The party says it will field a presidential candidate, eight governorship candidates, as well as candidates for National and State Assembly seats.
