Five days after the deadly shooting at the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, which left over forty persons dead, some arrests are said to have been made.
The Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye who confirmed the development, was, however, not specific on whether those arrested on Thursday were directly involved in the attack.
The disclosure seems to confirm a viral video which emerged on Thursday, showing residents of Owo town in their hundreds besieging the Palace of the Olowo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, to demand information on the purported arrest.
Addressing the crowd in the Owo dialect, Oba Ogunoye appealed for calm, saying he heard the same unconfirmed news just as the residents.
The residents of the town have been mourning the death of their loved ones since Sunday, with many of the survivors still battling for their lives at the hospital.
An anonymous source confirmed that shortly after the attack, a secret operation by the Nigerian Army, supported by operatives of the Amotekun, got underway to trail the suspected killers.

The source also confirmed that there is ongoing profiling of those arrested, to verify their links to the church killings in Owo and that an official media briefing will be made, once the necessary investigations are concluded.
The police in Ondo State had earlier dismissed the claims of suspects being arrested.
