The Nigerian Senate has approved N1.28 trillion Federal Capital Territory budget for 2024 Fiscal Year
The approval follows consideration of the harmonised report of the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on FCT, during plenary on Tuesday.
Presenting the report, Chairman, Senate Committee on FCT , Ibrahim Bomai, explained that the members after deliberation, recommended N1.28 trillion, with N140 billion earmarked for personnel cost, N373 billion for overhead cost while N768 billion is for capital projects
In his remarks, Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau who presided over plenary, commended the Committee for expediting the process of passing of the budget.

He pointed out that the budget of the FCT will help in changing the fortunes of the capital city and make it one of the best cities in the world.
He reiterated that the proposed capital expenditure will be dedicated to the development of infrastructures with emphasis on completion of ongoing projects.
