The Senate on Wednesday lamented the rate of killings and kidnappings recorded on a daily basis despite huge budgetary allocation alloted to the fight against insecurity in the country.

This followed a point of Order by Senator Mandiya Bello (Katsina South), coming under orders 41 and 51 of Senate standing rules calling on the Federal Government to take drastic actions to bring to an end the act of Banditry and Kidnapping in Faskari Local Government Area where Thirty Eight (38) members of the community were kidnapped on Sunday, 31 January, 2022 by unknown gunmen.

Senator Bello lamented that the continuous attacks have meted untold hardship on the people and subjected the affected areas to perpetual fear.
