President Bola Tinubu has been urged to speedily sanction Judicial Officers accused of compromise and miscarriage of justice.
This is as a petition has been sent to President Bola Tinubu to investigate the activities of a Court of Appeal Judge, Justice Chioma Nwosu- Iheme over alleged judicial misconduct in the ruling that sacked Senator Ishiaku Abbo who represented Adamawa North senatorial district in the 10th National Assembly, asking him to stop her swearing in as justice of the
Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, the petitioner, Senator Ishaku Abbo says he waited for the outcome of Supreme Court judgments on related cases to lodge his complaints, describing the ruling that removed him from office as “ a miscarriage of justice”, and has no legal jurisprudence
According to the former lawmaker, the outcome of similar cases in the Governorship elections in Kano and Plateau State has shown that the Court of Appeal judge erred even in the face of glaring evidence in the ruling that sacked him and should be punished.
He says the recent judgment by the Apex Court in Kano that ruled that the deduction of votes is illegal and exposes the injustice meted to him by Justice Nwosu-Iheme and others in the Court of Appeal, who unjustly canceled elections in 253 polling units with 155,80 registered voters and deducted 57, 775 valid votes
Abbo recalled that he was declared the winner of the February 2023 election where he led his opponent with over 11,000 votes.
He says “in the case of Adamawa North Election 57, 775 votes were cancelled and 253 Polling units cancelled meaning 27% of polling units in the senatorial district were cancelled in 27polling units.

He recalled that in Adamawa state where they are 4,104 polling units , supplementary election was conducted for the governorship election in 69 polling units which is 1.6% of the polling unit , because the number of registered voters exceeded the margin of lead between the two candidates
He added that in the Adamawa North senatorial district with 924 polling units the judge cancelled the election in 253 polling units and no rerun was called for.
While maintaining that when Doctor’s negligence lead to the death of patients, and drivers who accidentally kill persons , they are made to face the law.
He questioned Why the case of the Judiciary is different which has become a threat to the country ‘s democracy , who continue to indulge in miscarriage of justice and nobody holds them responsible
He therefore called on President Tinubu, the National Judicial Council to act swiftly and investigate the matter with a view to punishing erring judges to serve as deterrent to others
He also asked the NJC to investigate reported cases of compromised judgments, adding that the Judgment was not in conformity with the spirit and letters of the country ‘s electoral Jurisprudence.
This is as he insists that the Nigeria Judicial Council (NJC), and the executive must stop the swearing in of Justice Chioma Iheme as a Justice of the Supreme Court, and another judge found wanting in the discharge of official functions.
