Senator Barau Jibrin from Kano State has emerged unopposed as Deputy President of the 10th Senate.
The senators had earlier elected the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio as President of the 10th Senate.
Meanwhile, Members of the 10th House of Representatives have resumed electing principal officers of the assembly
359 of 360 members of the House are present in the chamber.

In the meantime, former leader of the green chamber, Ado Doguwa has nominated Tajudeen Abbas for the Speakership position while Kayode Tijjani from Kwara picked former Deputy Speaker of the House, Idris Wase as nominee for the number one office of the 10th House of representatives.
Members are adopting an open ballot system to elect their leaders in line with provisions contained in the rule book of the house
