Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, says Team Nigeria could win between 18 and 22 gold medals at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Dikko spoke on the sidelines of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria board meeting and retreat in Abuja, expressing confidence that ongoing reforms, improved planning and athlete support would strengthen Nigeria’s performance in Glasgow.
He also clarified that Nigeria has not abandoned its ambition to host a future edition of the Commonwealth Games, despite perceptions surrounding the country’s previous bid efforts.
