The Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dabban has directed immediate deployment of personnel to the troubled Shimfida village of Jibiya Local Government Area, following the stampede that led to the death of 7 children on Thursday and the abduction of 11 elderly women in the late hours of Friday night.
Spokesman of the police force Superintendent Gambo Isah who made the revelation following out cry by residents of the area as a result of the withdrawal of both the army and police personnel stationed at the area said, the directive which is with immediate effect is to ensure that those who fled can return to live their normal life.
According to Isah, the alleged withdrawal of troops was to inject another operational strategy into the fight against terrorism in the state.

The police spokesman also added that, due to the fear exhibited by the people, said the commissioner of police Idrisu Dabban has ordered immediate deployment of personnel to restore normalcy.
Isah further urged members of the public to desist from being too quick to pass unverifiable information which in turn, strengthen the terrorists to instill fear in the minds of the people.
