Sit-at-home fallout: Military Talks Tough, promises to retaliate killing of Troops in Abia

The defence headquarters has confirmed the killing of five personnel deployed to Aba, Abia State by terrorists of Indigenous People Of Biafra and Eastern Security Network on Thursday.

Troops of Operation UDO KA had been deployed at Obikabia Junction Checkpoint in Obingwa Local Government Areas adjourning Aba metropolis in Abia State to maintain peace and order during the celebration of Biafra day in the south East culminating in a sit-at-home order by IPOB/ESN.

A terse statement by the Director, Defence Media operations Major General Edward says Buba says the military will retaliate the dastardly act.

He said Troops were massed attacked by the terrorists and killed without any provocation.

General Buba added that 6 civilians were also killed in the cross fire.

The terrorists in three tinted Prado Toyota SUVs and others from built-up areas surrounding the checkpoint and sprang a surprise attack on the troops

Investigation are ongoing concerning the attack.

According to Buba, the military would be fierce in its response.

“We would bring overwhelming military pressure on the group to ensure their total defeat.
