Six Persons Confirmed Dead In Delta Bridge Accident

DELTA

At least 6 persons have been reported dead following an accident at Udu bridge in Delta State, South South region of Nigeria, late Monday.

Sources told ait.live that the sad accident occurred when a Julius Berger truck ramed into a stationary trailer that was broken down on the bridge.

The magnitude of the collision was severe, causing the trailer to topple and crushing a mechanic working underneath it.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened when the Julius Berger truck driver was attempting to avoid a moving tricycle, but unfortunately collided with the stationary trailer killing the mechanic and crushing three other tricycles and their passengers.

Emergency responders who arrived the scene recovered 6 bodies, while those who sustained injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

There has been no office statement from both the Police and the Federal Road Safety Corps in Delta State.
