The senior staff association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU has described as insensitive the non-payment of seven months old salaries, when it embarked on strike, threatening it may be forced to return to its suspended strike.
SSANU President, Mohammed Haruna at its National Executive Council meeting, also said that the non-implementation of the National Minimum
Wage in about ten Federal universities is a demonstration of the lack of capacity by the vice-chancellors concerned.
On the promise to release fifty billion naira for payment of outstanding earned allowances, SSANU warned the government against reneging, to avoid industrial action.
On the 2023 general elections, SSANU urged candidates of political parties to play by the rules to avoid voter apathy and apprehension.
