Cross River State Government has dismissed two officials of the U.J Esuene Sports Stadium Calabar, over the sudden disappearance of newly acquired Athletics Sporting equipment
Chairman of the Cross River State Sports Commission, Emmanuel Elom who confirmed the incident in a statement, said the officials involved have been arrested and the police already commenced investigations.

Elom said measure taken to dismissed the two security officials who are not civil servants was in order and is in line with the the rules of engagement of their appointment as casual staff.
The State Government had recently renovated facilities at the UJ Esuene Sport Stadium in preparation for its plan to bid for the next National Sports Festival after Edo State.
Some of the sporting equipment stolen includes 133 shotputs, 72 discus and other athletics facilities.
