The Sudanese Minister of Youth and Sports, Wala’a Essam al-Boushi, has confirmed on her official social handle that, she is Covid-19 positive.
She has already gone into 14-day quarantine and informed everyone who had contact with her in the last 2 weeks to go into self-isolation and be tested.
The Minister has been very active in the implementation of government’s efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic, in different parts of the country.
She appealled to those who worked with her on different trips to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s protocol. She however says more work needs to be done as communities require more preventive measures to slow down the spread of the virus.
An Engineering graduate from the University of Khartoum, appointed last year, Al-Boushi is considered one of the most active in the country.
Sudan has recorded 165 deaths from 3, 820 Covid-19 infections.
