An Assistant Director with the Department of State Services DSS, in Adamawa, (name withheld) is currently under investigation after video emerged of him admitting that he received the sum of two billion naira to unlawfully announce APC’s Aishatu Ahmed Binani as the winner of the Adamawa state governorship election.
In the video, the dishevelled looking man in a torn brown brocade caftan was seen ferried in the back of Hilux truck after the botched announcement along with another man identified to be an INEC National Commissioner.

Investigations by ait.live revealed that he is an assistant director with the DSS.
Reacting to the development, the DSS in a statement released late on Sunday and signed by its spokesman Peter Afunnaya said it has commenced a full investigation into the development.
It’s read in full, “The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to a trending video on the social media in which someone suspected to be its staff was allegedly manhandled by some political miscreants in Adamawa State. This followed developments arising from the supplementary governorship election in the State.
“The Service wishes to inform the public that it has commenced a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the incident”
It called for calm, imploring concerned parties in Adamawa State to remain peace loving and shun violence.
