The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Dapo Abiodun as the governor of Ogun state.
The appellants, Ladi Adebutu and the Peoples Democratic Party prayed the apex court to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct fresh elections in the 99 polling units where elections were allegedly cancelled.
They also alleged that Electoral Act, 2022 was not adhered to, citing corrupt practices and issue of non-qualification.
Dismissing the appeal, the Apex court held that the appeal lacked merit.

The Appeal Court, had in a split decision on November 24, 2023 affirmed the re-election of Dapo Abiodun as the duly elected governor of Ogun State.
The majority judgment delivered by Justice Joseph Ikyegh dismissed the appeal filed by PDP and its governorship candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu.
