Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf on Sunday left Abuja for Kano after the Supreme Court judgement which confirmed him as duly elected Governor of the state.
The Governor who took off from Abuja at about 8am, arrived Zaria around 12 noon in company of top government appointees.
While a mammoth crowd is waiting for him at the Mahaha open field in Kano, the governor’s journey is being delayed on the way as supporters besiege his convoy at strategic locations on the Abuja-Kano corridor.
Pictures from the governor’s official photographer on the convoy revealed the governor stopping and greeting supporters along the Kaduna Zaria road.
It is expected that the governor’s arrival may go into the night as major roads linking into Kano metropolis are already witnessing traffic as party supporters take to the roads to welcome him, which may slow down the pace of movement.
Police personnel were seen patrolling Kano metropolis, just as armored tanks and mobile officers mount strategic locations within the state.
Upon arrival, the governor will address residents at the Mahaha open field where tens of thousands of residents have been waiting since 7am today.
