The inspector general of police Usman Alkali Baba has assured the government and people of plateau state that the force will intensify efforts to police the ungoverned spaces in the state.
The IGP said this during a visit to the state to lunch operational vehicles provided by the state Government and to also inaugurate the state community police.

Taking delivery of the Vehicles and other security equipments, Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali admitted that Plateau state has a unique security challenge and called on all stakeholders to support security agencies to overcome the problems.
While commending the efforts of the police and other security agencies , the Chairman of the Plateau state traditional council the Bong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Buba, made an appeal for recruitment of fresh hands into the police.
The Plateau state governor Simon Lalong, assured of the state government’s readiness to support the police and urged the inspector general of police to complete several projects initiated by previous inspector generals .
High point of the event was a demonstration by the men of the newly formed SWAT and the commissioning of operational vehicles and motorbikes.
