Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku says the state is under threat of being invaded by Boko Haram.
The Governor cautioned Taraba residents against indiscriminate acceptance of strangers in their communities.
He also issued a stern warning to traditional rulers on aiding criminals in their domain.
Governor Ishaku raised the alarm after he assented to the 2022 budget, presented by the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Joseph Kunini.
Borno State, the epicentre of the Boko Haram crisis, is in the same Northeast geo-political zone as Taraba, with a high rate of inter-state travels between them.
Governor Ishaku tasked the traditional rulers and host communities to take precautions, and ensure that Boko Haram elements are not harboured amongst them.
The Governor also tasked the relevant security agencies, to take pre-emptive measures to secure the porous borders of the state.
