Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has called on the academia, to be at the forefront in creating awareness on environmental issues, and sensitize the citizens against the activities that lead to environmental degradation.
Governor Ishaku made the call shortly before the commissioning of a 3.4 Kilometer road and drainage project, by the Minister of Power,Saleh Mamman,who represented President Muhammadu Buhari.

The project which is at the instance of the ecological fund office, is aimed at addressing some environmental challenges, faced by the Federal University, Wukari, in Taraba State as well as its neighbours.
Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku, who was represented by his Deputy, Haruna Manu at the event, also urged the federal government to embark on similar projects in some local government areas facing environmental degradations in the state.
