TARABA
Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas

Taraba State Government has awarded contracts for the reconstruction of Jalingo-Zing, and Jalingo-Wukari federal highways. The awarded road projects are strategic to the economic growth of the State, as they connect to other parts of the country.

The Jalingo-Wukari Road links Jalingo the State capital to southern Taraba State, and the southern part of the country, while the Jalingo-Zing Road links northern Taraba State, and neighbouring Adamawa State.

Governor Agbu Kefas after award of the contracts for the reconstruction of the roads visited the proposed project sites ahead of the mobilisation of the contractors to site. He said the contractors will be mobilised to the sites in one week time.

The Governor added that though the roads are Federal Government owned, his Government has taken up the reconstruction, due to the urgency to ease the movement of vehicles, and will consult with the Federal Government afterwards.

Governor Kefas also inspected the ongoing road dualisation projects in Jalingo and its surburbs, which was initiated by the administration of his predecessor. He also inspected the United Nations House project in Jalingo.
