Zamfara State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Abdulaziz Sani, SAN says the administration has secured the successful prosecution of five perpetrators of banditry-related offences in the state.

He was speaking with AIT.live in Gusau, the State capital, about Executive Order No. 07 that restricts movement of motorcycles in the 14 local government areas from 8pm to 6am.

Sani said three weeks ago, the State Government secured the conviction of five persons on banditry-related offences with one sentenced to death, while others got jail terms.

He said his Ministry is currently prosecuting some cases in court, to serve as deterrent to other people, and end banditry in Zamfara State.

On Executive Order No. 07, Sani said it was signed due to the incessant attacks, abduction of people for ransom, and killing of innocent citizens by terror groups, and was aimed at stopping the menace.
