No fewer than 17 residents of Garam town and Zhibi community both in Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria have been abducted by terrorists in two separate attacks carried out on Wednesday, January 16.
According to a source in the area, 14 people were abducted from Garam, a town located along the Sabon-Wuse-Bwari Road while three others were taken hostage in Zhibi, which is a community sharing boundaries with Dei-Dei town, under Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
It was also gathered that the terrorists operating in the forest area of Tafa Local Government Area struck the Sabon-Unguwa area of the community around 1am.
He added that they abducted their victims from different houses and left the community within an hour of the operation.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the police, Deputy Superintendent Wasiu Abiodun said measures have already been taken by the police headquarters.
