Terrorists operating in the Funtua forest areas in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State, North-West Nigeria on Saturday night, reportedly launched an attack on a mosque abducting yet to be confirmed number of worshippers.
An eye witness gave the name of the area where the incident occured as Maigamji community in Funtua Local Government Area.

According to him, the attack took place at about 7.40 pm when the Muslims were observing the late night prayer called, ‘Ishai’.
He said, the terrorists stormed the mosque where over 50 worshippers were observing the prayers shooting sporadically before abducting unspecified number of persons into the forest.
It was gathered that, as a result of the sporadic gunshots, some persons sustained injuries while trying to scamper for safety but, were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Though the police or other relevant authorities in the state are yet to confirm the incident, the attack is coming few days to flag-off of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, 2023 Governorship campaign neighbouring Faskari Local Government Area.
