Niger State Government has confirmed the killing of the Village Head of Galla, Ahmed Yusuf, in the Borgu Emirate of the state by terrorists.
The confirmation is contained in a statement by Bologi Ibrahim, the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger State Governor.
According to the statement, the deceased, who was also a brother to the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, was killed by terrorists in his palace.
In a condolence message, the Governor said the killing of the village head in his palace is a demonstration of boldness and a high level of insolence by the terrorists. He tasked security agencies with ensuring that the perpetrators are not only apprehended but also prosecuted.
The Governor also used the opportunity to commiserate with Senator Sabi Abdullahi, the immediate family of the deceased, the people of Galla Village and the entire Borgu Emirate over the death of the village head.
