Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has advised institutions to train their academic staff in Nigeria rather than the raging crave for foreign educations, Addressing a cross-section of academia at the Gombe State University, the chairman, TETFUND Board of Trustees, Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim the chairman, TETFUND Board of Trustees, Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim urged the nation’s universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education to opt for inward consideration.

Kashim Ibrahim was reacting to complaints by some lecturers on the rising foreign exchange rate that often affect their overseas academic training,
Kashim added that to him there’s almost nothing in the United Kingdom and the United States of America (USA) that is not in Nigeria.”
The Director Academic staff training development, Muhammed Sani, said the Fund had sponsored 90 percent population of academic staff in the nation’s tertiary schools against the erstwhile 40 percent.
Meanwhile, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya during a courtesy call by the Trustees applauded the leadership of Imam and pleaded for more patronage of the TETFUND.
