The Biography of the founder of Daar Communications, High Chief Aleogho Dokpesi has been unveiled in Abuja to mark his 70th birthday celebration.

The book titled “The Handkerchief” which was presented by a former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar highlights the journey of a man who remained resilient in the face of many challenges.

The title of the book was carefully chosen to reflect the determination of the founder of Daar communications, High Chief Aleogho Dokpesi who as a child promised to wipe away his mother’s tears having witnessed her daily struggles, a promise he worked relentlessly to keep.

Call him a child of providence and you may not be wrong as young Raymond Dokpesi was only able to speak at age seven, struggled through primary and secondary school education but eventually got a scholarship to study marine engineering in a polish university.

The book highlights his interesting foray into politics as he cut his teeth as a student Union president in the university, appointed chief of staff to the Governor of the Defunct Gongola state, Bamanga Tukur after serving in the capacity of his campaign Director General.

The book reviewer believes the twenty chapter compendium of the life journey of the engineer turned broadcaster and politician illuminates the many sides of the man who has become an enigma in national development.
