Newly sworn-in Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, says Nigerians should expect a gradual but steady improvement in electricity supply as the federal government intensifies reforms across the power sector.
He gave the assurance on Monday shortly after his swearing-in at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tegbe says the administration is focused on addressing persistent challenges in electricity generation, transmission, and distribution, adding that reforms already underway will begin to yield results progressively.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient, stressing that improvements in power supply will come steadily rather than suddenly, as the government works to stabilise the sector.
“We are committed to ensuring that Nigerians see gradual but consistent improvement in power supply. The challenges are known, and we are already working on generation, transmission and distribution. It will take time, but progress will be steady.”
Tegbe was sworn in by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in a brief ceremony attended by his spouse and senior government officials, weeks after his confirmation by the Senate.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, has pledged to strengthen professionalism and restore efficiency within the ministry.
“Our focus will be to restore professionalism, strengthen internal systems, and ensure that morale within the ministry is significantly boosted for better service delivery.”
Both ministers are expected to assume full duties immediately as part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to reposition key sectors of governance.
