President Bola Tinubu has emerged winner of the All-Progressives Congress presidential primary election conducted in Kano State, polling a total of five hundred thousand, eight hundred and fifty-one votes to defeat his only contender, Stanly Osifo.
The State Collation Officer and Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, announced the results in the early hours of Sunday after collating votes from the forty-four local government areas of the state.
The All-Progressives Congress presidential primary election commenced on Saturday morning across the forty-four local government areas of Kano State.
Governor Abba Yusuf led party members in casting their votes at his Diso Ward in Gwale Local Government Area.
Collation of results which commenced at about 6pm from the forty-four local government areas continued late into the night before the State Collation Officer officially declared President Bola Tinubu winner of the exercise.
Governor Abba Yusuf commended party members and stakeholders across the state, including members of the National Assembly, for their participation in the primary election.
He described the exercise as peaceful, free, fair, and credible.
