Tomato farmers have been urged to join hands with experts, to boost production in the country.
Professor Adebayo Akinboye, from the Department of Agric Economics in the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, made the call, during the sensitization of tomato farmers, processors and transporters, held in kano.

Tomato farming is the cultivation of tomatoes for the production of tomato fruit.
The cultivation can be profitable if done in the right way.
Professor Adebayo Akinboye of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, said the workshop was aimed to form a platform, which will be used to gather information, among the actors in tomato production.
Some of the participants appreciated the gesture, and commended the Federal Government for organizing the workshop.
The workshop with the theme, “Innovating Tomato Supply Chain For Food Security And Improved Livelihood In Nigeria,” was organised to enhance tomato production across the country.
