The seven-pillar roadmap of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, FTAN, is aimed at turning Nigeria’s tourism assets into jobs, investment, and economic growth.

This was made by FTAN at a press conference ahead of the 2026 Nigeria Tourism Investors’ Forum and Exhibition, NTIFE.

The Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria says the industry has moved beyond dialogue and now requires coordinated implementation. The Tourism Transformation Mandate is designed to shift from fragmented initiatives to an integrated national agenda focused on measurable impact.

The body plans to strengthen research and evidence-based decision-making through its Research and Development Directorate

NTIFE 2026 will serve as the implementation platform for the mandate. The forum is expected to bring together government, investors, financial institutions, and ECOWAS tourism bodies to secure commitments on partnerships, investment, and policy coordination.

The federation stated its goal is to position tourism as a leading driver of economic diversification, employment, and regional integration, with Nigeria leading tourism development in West Africa.
