Abia State Governor, Okezie lkpeazu has assured the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, (ICAN) of his administration’s commitment to partner with it to promote accountability and transparency in the State.
lkpeazu who gave the assurance when he received the 57th President of ICAN, Comfort Eyitayo at the Government House, Umuahia expressed delight that members of the body in the Abia State Government have made the profession proud especially in the areas of budget presentation and analysis.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Ude Oko Chukwu reiterated the resolve of his administration to continue to work assiduously to change the narratives in terms of the development strides in the State.

The ICAN President, Eyitayo who disclosed that the institute is not relenting in its desire for a prosperous economy, commended Governor Okezie lkpeazu for providing what she described as purposeful leadership in the State.
While assuring that ICAN will always remain a trusted partner to Governments and various businesses across the country, she called on the State Governor to support the Institute’s efforts to amend the 1965 Act establishing ICAN.
