Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, this Wednesday has enrolled as a student at The Footwear Academy, located in Aba, the commercial and industrial hub of the State.
Speaking to journalists after undergoing through the exercise, the Governor urged Nigerians to take pride in patronizing made in Nigeria products, as a way of boosting the local economy.
He said that “except Nigerians endorse their own products and take pride in them, they will be merely supporting the economic growth of other nations”.

Ikpeazu who observed that Aba can compete with the Chinese and other world leaders in the Shoe industry also expressed the hope that soon, no one will ignore the shoes produced from Aba.
Already, the Abia State Government has established an automated shoe factory in Aba, with advanced technological equipment being put in place, to make products more competitive.
