There is tension in different parts of Kano state and the metropolis following the tribunal’s pronouncement sacking Governor Kabir Yusuf and ordering the return of APC’s Nasiru Garuna as duly the elected governor.
Many residents of the state metropolis were seen hurrying home over fear of violence.
Mild protests had already begun in some places, with some youths burning tires around the Murtala Mohammed by club road round about as supporters of the government expressed their dissatisfaction with the judgment.
Some popular markets were also closed down. The Singer market was shutdown while most shops around Murtala Mohammed way by Lagos street were closed.

Observations by ait.live indicate that there is police presence in the city and the situation, though tense, is under control.
