The Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, says its troops have neutralised over 21 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the Kopre Mountain general area of Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
In a statement signed by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, the military said several other terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds.
The troops subsequently dominated the area, dismantled the terrorist camp and destroyed its logistics infrastructure.

The statement said the operation followed credible intelligence and involved the Office of the National Security Adviser Tactical Team and newly inducted troops of 226 Battalion, deployed to Sector 4, Adamawa State.
The troops conducted a stealth operation into the difficult terrain and launched a precision strike on the terrorist camp in the early hours of August 27, 2026.
The operation was aimed at locating and rescuing victims abducted from Mussa community in May and the Lassa school children abducted in June.
Troops recovered several AK-47 rifles, magazines and 7.62mm special ammunition, while motorcycles, bicycles and jerrycans containing Premium Motor Spirit were destroyed.

The military says operations will continue until the abducted persons are rescued and lasting peace and security are restored across the North East.
