Troops of 130 Battalion with the support of Army Super Camp Baga, in an encounter killed 20 Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists North West of Baga town, in Borno State.
A statement by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major-General John Enenche, says the criminals armed with mortars, rocket propelled grenades and small arms were heading to attack villages around Baga when the troops attacked their convoy with overwhelming fire power killing 20 of the terrorists and captured six AK 47 rifles, 520 rounds of special ammunition and 5 hand grenades.
However, 9 soldiers were wounded in action with no loss of life. They were evacuated to Sector 3 Hospital for treatment.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai commends the troops for their professionalism and directs them to remain resolute towards eradicating the criminals from the North-East.
Troops of 146 Battalion deployed in Bonny Island say they have neutralised, raided and destroyed an identified pirates and militants hideout in Arugbanama community in Bonny LGA of Rivers State.

Major-General Enenche notes that during the operation, the troops exchanged fire with the militants and pirates resulting in the neutralisation of 2 of the criminals as well as recovery of one AK 47 Rifle, one Pump Action Rifle, one Pistol, seven AK 47 Rifle magazines, one Pistol magazine, one round of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 102 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 3 rounds of 9mm ball ammunition, one live cartridge, one camouflage uniform, one head gear, one speed boat and four 85 Horse Power engines.
Similarly, troops of 3 Battalion while on routine patrol arrested a suspected criminal named Stephen Eboje along the Warri-Sapele Road in Uvwie LGA of Delta State and recovered one AK 47 rifle from the suspect.
The Military High Command while commending the troops for their resilience, courage and dedication to the noble cause of defending the country is appealing to the general public to continue to provide credible information to Armed Forces of Nigeria on criminality in their environment.
