Troops of the Joint Task Force, JTF North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued 11 abducted victims during separate security operations in Ribah and the Wasagu-Falfala general area of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
According to a statement issued by the JTF Acting Media Information Officer, the rescue operations followed two separate encounters with suspected terrorists on October 30 and 31, 2026.
The first operation followed a distress call received by troops of Sector Two on October 30, 2026, reporting that suspected terrorists had blocked the Ribah-Dirindaji road while attempting to invade Ribah town.
On arrival, the troops discovered that the assailants had fled with seven residents. The military personnel immediately launched an aggressive pursuit towards Rambo village, mounting sustained pressure on the fleeing terrorists and forcing them to abandon their captives.

In a separate operation on October 31, troops conducting routine patrols in the Wasagu-Falfala general area came under attack from terrorists who had laid an ambush along their route.
The troops swiftly responded with superior firepower, forcing the attackers to retreat. A subsequent search of the area led to the discovery of four abducted victims who had been abandoned by the fleeing terrorists during the exchange of gunfire.
The military says the operations form part of its ongoing efforts to protect residents, safeguard critical infrastructure and deny criminal elements freedom of action across its area of responsibility.
Operation Fansan Yamma has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining security operations and protecting law-abiding citizens across the North-West.
