The suspect who attempted to assassinate former president Trump at his golf course has been identified by law enforcement sources in the U.S as 58-year old Ryan Rough.
The suspect who is in custody is alleged to have hid near shrubs around the vicinity of the golf course in Palm Beach Florida, at which Trump was playing a round, armed with an AK47 and recording device known as GoPro, and when spotted by a secret service agent fled when fired upon.
Trump has reacted to the incident, saying he “will not surrender” and that he “loves the people of America”.

Both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have said they are glad that the Republican candidate who faces Harris in November’s election is safe, saying there is no place for violence in America.
This is the second attempt on the life of former President Trump.
In July, a 20 year old man who was shot dead by a secret service sniper, fired shots at Trump at a rally in Butler County in Pennsylvania, one of which grazed his ear.
