The Kabiru Turaki- led Interim National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP has paid condolence visits to the family of the Party’s former National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, at the Tukur Lodge, Yola, Adamawa State.
The Party also visited the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, at the Lamido’s Palace and the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, at the Governor’s Office to condole with them over the passing of their illustrious Son and Elder Stateman.
In a statement by the Turaki led PDP leadership signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party says it is pained by the death of Bamanga Tukur and will greatly miss the concomitant virtues he graciously exuded all through his life, in both private and public engagements.

It says the visit is in recognition of the great legacy Tukur left, not just in Adamawa, old Gongola and Northern Nigeria, but also the impressionable footprints he left on the Nigerian business and political landscape.
The Turaki- led PDP says it determined more than before to ensure that the PDP which the late Icon was one of its founding fathers, remains true to its ideals and is not diluted or compromised.
In his response, the son of the late party Chairman and Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Awwal Tukur welcomed the PDP’s delegation and expressed his appreciation for the visit, he says, though his father has passed on but his legacy lives on adding that he elegantly bestrode the professional, social, economic and administrative spaces, leaving a great impact in his wake.
Awwal Tukur expressed happiness that the PDP still remains the only legacy party in Nigeria, knowing the efforts and resources expended, and the risks undertaken, to birth the PDP, he says he is sure his late father as one of the founding fathers of the PDP will be happy to see that the party paid him visit even in death.
At the Government House and the Palace of Lamido, both Leaders appreciate the leadership of the party for the visit as they pray that the late Icon rests in peace.
In the entourage of the party were former Niger State Governor, Muazu Babangida Aliyu, party’s Interim National Chairman, Kabiru Turaki, BOT Secretary; Hajiya Zainab Maina, Member, BOT; Isa Abubakar, National Treasurer; Theophilus Dakas Shan, National Organising Secretary; Obiechina Daniel, National Financial Secretary; Shafi Bara’u, Esq., National Legal Adviser; Umar Dan Abu, National Youth Leader, and Comrade Ini Ememobong, National Publicity Secretary.
