A Chief Magistrate court sitting in Lokoja has remanded two suspects, Enesi Ohinoyi aged 43 and Ayuba Adeiza aged 33 for allegedly aiding, abetting and harbouring jail break inmates who escaped from the Kabba Custodian Centre.
The suspects are accused of conspiring to commit an illegal act, by assisting a convict, Olusegun Onimisi Otaru to escape from Kabba Custodian Centre during last month’s attack on the correctional facility.

While arraigning the suspects before the Chief Magistrate Court in Lokoja on Wednesday, counsel to the Department of State Services DSS, O.Y. Yahaya and the Prosecuting Counsel, urged the court through an application to remand the suspects to enable the security operatives complete their investigation .
He stated that the operatives Department of State Security Service and other Security agent had on intelligence report arrested the two suspects, while the convict was not charged to court and has since been returned to Kabba Custodian Centre of Nigeria Correctional Services.
The convict had been tried for culpable homicide case and was sentenced to death.
The Chief Magistrate, A .A Umar in his ruling granted the application, stated that having perused the application and the 14 paragraph affidavit.
He remanded the suspects in custody for 14 days and adjourned the case till October 20 for hearing.
